Upstream Brewing in Omaha, NE is seeking a compassionate Host/Hostess to join our passionate team. We are looking for someone who embodies the true spirit of hospitality and is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service to ensure our guests have a memorable dining experience. As a Host/Hostess, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment they arrive.

Responsibilities:

• Warmly greet and welcome guests as they enter the restaurant, providing a positive and friendly first impression.
• Escort guests to their tables and present them with menus, ensuring seating arrangements are comfortable and appropriate.
• Efficiently manage waitlists and reservations, utilizing our reservation system to ensure accurate seating availability.
• Engage with guests in a courteous and professional manner, answering any questions they may have about the menu, daily specials, or restaurant policies.
• Assist other team members in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the front-of-house area, including the reception area and retail area.
• Monitor table turnover, communicate with servers, and maintain awareness of dining room activity to ensure a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for all guests.
• Anticipate guests' needs and provide prompt assistance when required.
• Maintain a working knowledge of our menu items, including ingredients and allergens, to assist guests with dietary restrictions or preferences.
• Collaborate closely with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure efficient flow of service and accurate communication of guest requests.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards, and promote a culture of teamwork and respect.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Exceptional ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in the hospitality industry.
• Passion for providing outstanding customer service and creating memorable experiences for our guests.
• Ability to work well within a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
